A SELECTION OF ARTISTS AND GALLERIES AND WORKS FROM BRATTLEBORO’S GALLERY WALK WHICH TAKES PLACE THE FIRST FRIDAY EVENING OF EVERY MONTH
Gallery Walk
July, 2011
Absolutely beautiful weather on the way down town
Another evening in downtown Brattleboro.
Nancy Storrow was exhibiting at the Dianich Gallery at 139 Main Street with a show entitled “Revisiting Bare Ground.”
Downstairs in the Hooker-Dunham
Plenty of conversations going on back at street level and I noticed that the sidewalk enlargements make Brattleboro more wheel-chair friendly.
Conversations were light and serious too. Center Dr. Wayne London talks with a board member of The Commons about community health for the future.
Below, ‘Hi, Phil!’
Sidewalks also had a number of tables and booths. Here select board member Ken Shenck is selling t-shirts to benefit a good cause.
Slightly chaotic traffic on Elliot St.
Mocha Joe’s had these mosaics,
and below at the River Gallery School I think someone has been traveling in France and Italy.
Photos above to give the scale of some exhibits at the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center
Scale, large collage, and detail. I particularly liked this exhibit and want one, or maybe a sort of frame where I can put up my own images.
One fine aspect of Gallery Walk is that people talk with each other. Here the artists is in conversation with Kit Barry and no doubt they are discussing some aspect of American iconography.
Back on the street I found the ubiquitous Chris, with buddies.
Sadly our friend from TimeTrade is returning to Alaska, but with ‘Mission Accomplished.’
Live music up the street and also lower right is the ‘ghost’, detail below.
More live music in Pliny Park
Going home, and at least one person is enjoying a quieter time in the park...
... which reminded me of this Wolf Kahn at the Museum
Uncertainly I think this sculpture/mobile has to do with the stars
Probably nothing better than this, on the deck behind the River Garden, looking across the Connecticut River or reading.
